1. The Delta variant is more contagious
2. Some data suggest the Delta variant might cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated persons
3. Unvaccinated people remain the greatest concern
4. Fully vaccinated people with Delta variant breakthrough infections can spread the virus to others. However, vaccinated people appear to be infectious for a shorter period
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
The Fredericksburg Area Alumnae Chapter (FAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta (DST), Inc., Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Committee act as volunteers and supporters of the Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity (GFHFH) and ReStore. The GFHFH serves the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. The mission of GFHFH is to bring people together to build homes, community, and hope. The HFH organization believes that homeownership is more than an American dream - it’s a reliable way to build generational wealth and improve an entire family’s future. By bringing together volunteers and supporters, HFH provides affordable mortgage options for qualified applicants. Habitat homes are not free, but they are sold without a profit. The ReStore supports building and providing affordable, sustainable housing for people through the sale of new and gently used appliances, furniture, and building materials.

The FAAC HFH Committee is excited about leading HFH and ReStore efforts to enhance the dream of affordable homeownership and building generational wealth. The FAAC HFH Committee plans to host the second annual Restore Donation campaign in March 2022, join several build site Teams as individuals and host a FAAC HFH build Team in May 2022.
